Overlooking Little Traverse Bay, this shop and kitchen invite guests to peek behind the scenes at where many Kilwins favorites begin. Visitors watch Mackinac Island Fudge spread across marble tables, caramel cooked in copper kettles, and waffle cones made in continuous batches. Tour groups, vacationing families, and locals all pause here for ice cream before lakeshore drives or box up chocolates to take downstate. It is both a working chocolate kitchen and a nostalgic sweet shop that showcases Kilwins Petoskey roots. Visit Monday through Thursday for a complimentary guided tour of the Kilwins Chocolate Kitchen. Watch skilled chocolatiers at work, learn how many of your favorite Kilwins chocolates and confections are crafted, and discover the nearly 80-year tradition of quality and craftsmanship that began right here in Petoskey. Larger groups are encouraged to call ahead. Kilwins is made up of over 150 franchisee store owners with stores in 25 states, and our team here at our Petoskey Kitchen. Our goal is to provide you with the best Chocolates, made-in-store Confections and “Original Recipe” Ice Cream, as well as a great experience every time you visit your local Kilwins store.
